Technical Support Specialist Job Description

The role of a Technical Support Specialist is to provide expert assistance to employees encountering problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies. This involves identifying and resolving technical issues efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and rectifying incoming employee calls regarding technical problems and IT issues involving desktop, laptop, or network services from local personnel.
  • Providing case status updates to management and end-users.
  • Developing, documenting, and implementing standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines related to IT support.
  • Assisting in the installation, implementation, and upgrades of internal systems.
  • Maintaining inventory of all equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical support role.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental themes, principles, and concepts related to IT support including printer setup, basic network knowledge, TCP/IP configurations, endpoint devices, Oracle ERP, Intune MDM, Mac OS, MECM imaging, Active Directory group policies, memberships, and containers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Windows, Office, and Exchange.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
