Senior Project Manager Role

This position involves delivering significant building construction and upgrade projects for a government department. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who can develop comprehensive project management plans incorporating procurement strategies, risk management, and lifecycle considerations.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed project briefs, consultancy scopes, tender documentation, and overseeing the procurement of consultants and contractors.
  • They will manage both Design & Construct and traditional contracts, acting as Principal's Representative or Contract Superintendent.
  • The candidate must ensure designs meet brief, compliance, and value-for-money objectives.
  • They will oversee commissioning, handover, and defect liability period, ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, project reporting, and maintaining accurate project records are essential skills for this role.
  • The successful candidate will lead and mentor project teams, balancing competing priorities and ensuring project profitability.

About You:

  • Proven experience managing building construction/upgrade projects in comparable organizations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in building construction or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement, contract law, and building industry practices.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
