Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Service Representative to join our team at AkzoNobel Yacht Coatings. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will provide technical expertise and support to our sales team, customers, and stakeholders in the yacht industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical support and training to the sales team and customers on marine coatings and paints.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of coating preparation, application techniques, and paint defects.
  • Conduct product evaluations and participate in new product launches.
  • Assist in the management and use of the APAC Yacht Paint Application Centre.
  • Lead colour control initiatives, including QC, colour matching, and process development.
  • Support the sales team and customers in conducting paint defect analysis.
  • Process colour sample requests and provide precise colour matches and large volume paint mixes.
  • Provide expert knowledge in complaint handling regarding products, performance, and application.
  • Conduct AWLMIX audits in-house and at relevant distributors.
  • Deliver periodical business reports and updates to CRM and Case Management systems.
  • Conduct new product demonstrations and collaborate with Account Managers on customer calls.
  • Represent the Yacht business at industry events and contribute to the development and upskilling of the team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a marine, aerospace, automotive, or similar environment.
  • Technical expertise in coating preparation, application techniques, and paint defects.
  • Problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel interstate and internationally for customer visits and industry events.
