Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project & Investment Analyst to join our team at Shell Energy.

About the Role

This is a key role within our Strategy and Portfolio Development team, responsible for driving financial and analytical workstreams that inform decisions and development directions made by the renewables team on both a project and portfolio level.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial Modelling: Preparation and operation of detailed project finance and valuation models for wind, solar hybrid (e.g. wind plus batteries and other similar technologies).
  • Investment Cases: Development of investment cases for existing or target renewable energy projects or portfolios, including commercial and financial evaluation, conducting due diligence, preparation of investment architypes and realisation strategies, identifying and evaluating key projects risks, and documentation and presentation of investment proposals.
  • Results Presentation: Preparation and presentation of results from financial modelling and analysis to key stakeholders including Shell Energy Executives and internal and external Boards.
  • Market Intelligence: Maintaining intelligence and databook libraries on market pricing and trends for key project component inputs (both technical and economic).
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience building financial models for a similar remit, ideally with a leading Big4 accounting firm or major bank.
  • High Proficiency: High proficiency in the development and operation of project, valuation and debt financial models.
  • Renewable Energy: Relevant experience in renewable energy (wind, solar, transmission, and/or BESS) including strong analytical scrutiny on proposed solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to summarise and communicate findings and insights in written, visual or verbal format.
