Senior Dementia Advisor

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dementia Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert dementia-specific advisory services to our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-the-ground support to staff through participation in regular clinical review meetings
  • Coach and mentor staff to build their capacity to deal with dementia-related situations and escalations
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of care provided to individuals living with dementia
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve agreed practice development objectives and quality improvements
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of care provision using HammondCare processes
  • Participate in projects related to dementia care and behaviour management planning

Requirements:

  • 3 years of proven experience working with people living with dementia
  • Registered Nurse or Allied Health qualification essential; further qualification in Training and Assessment highly desirable
  • Demonstrated skills in teaching, mentoring, and coaching others
  • Confidence in conducting care tasks such as personal care and resident general support
  • High level of negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills relevant to the aged and dementia care context
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal
  • Strong administrative and computer skills using Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
