The Opportunity

In this role you will play a critical part in ensuring the safe and effective processing of various hazardous liquid chemical waste streams at our Karratha site. This offers the chance to apply your chemistry expertise in a highly regulated, safety-first industry where your contribution has a direct impact on environmental sustainability.

  • Provide technical support and guidance for the acceptance, treatment, and storage of liquid and technical waste.
  • Deliver technical and analytical support to the sales team and external customers.
  • Assist operations with waste management and production activities.
  • Run treatability trials, select treatment methods, and validate their suitability to ensure wastes are treated safely and profitably.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and ensure compliance with legislation and company standards.

About You

  • Degree in Chemistry, and experience working with waste or hazardous chemicals within an industrial environment.
  • Previous exposure to wastewater treatment or chemical fixation and stabilisation facilities and field sampling experience.
  • Proficiency in operating and calibrating laboratory instruments.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessments and preparation of work instructions.
  • Accurate record-keeping skills within tightly regulated environments.
  • Solid understanding of chemical handling legislation, including storage and disposal requirements.
