Strategic Category Leader for Animal Health Products

Covetrus, a global animal health technology and services company, is seeking an experienced professional to lead its category management function in Australia and New Zealand.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute category management strategies to drive growth, profitability, and market share across ANZ.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of category management professionals to ensure agility in adapting to changing market conditions.
- Oversee supplier competitive analysis, performance metrics, research techniques, sourcing strategies, risk mitigation, and contract management.
- Collaborate with business partners to identify emerging opportunities and support category strategy execution.
- Design go-to-market strategies to launch new products, explore new markets for growth, and analyze new business opportunities.
- Partner with Marketing to plan B2B marketing and communication efforts, with accountability for introducing new products.
- Engage with Sales teams to develop comprehensive communication strategies to maximize client engagement and adoption of private label products.
We're looking for a seasoned leader with:
- At least 10 years' experience in the animal health, human health, or FMCG industry, with a track record of leading and developing teams.
- Influential leadership capabilities in stakeholder management to coordinate internal stakeholders and negotiate with external vendors.
- A strong background in category management, including success in leading and transforming a category management function.
- Proven product and business development skills, with expertise in analyzing markets, developing white label/generics product portfolios, and launching these across multiple markets.
- A metrics-driven mindset and ability to draw insights from complex data.
- Entrepreneurial skills to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and effectively communicate, motivate, and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Strong commercial acumen to translate strategic direction into operational plans.
