Role Overview:

The primary objective of this position is to support the educational services provided to students with intellectual disabilities, ensuring their needs are met and they receive a tailored learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Re-engage students in the classroom through targeted interventions, focusing on emotional regulation and self-awareness.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's unique requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive learning environment that fosters social skills and independence.
  • Coach and model evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to improve student outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of PBS principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours.
