Steel Detailer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Steel Detailer to join our team in production of 3D models and shop drawings for architectural metalwork and structural steel projects.

  • Reading and interpreting architectural and engineering documentation for fabrication drawings.
  • Producing detailed drawings for structural steel, staircases, balustrades, gates and fencing etc.
  • Liaising with builders, architects and engineers during all phases of production.
  • Collaborating with fabricators to achieve optimum outcomes.
  • Attending site meetings and performing site measurements where required.
  • Creating concept documentation and fabrication drawings.
  • Designing renderings of proposed works.
  • Performing take-offs from documentation for cost analysis and tendering.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Clear understanding of residential construction techniques including relevant codes and standards.
  • Ability to read plans and produce quality documentation.
  • Experience in Autocad and Autodesk Advance Steel.
  • Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous material sizes and specifications.
  • Interest in Architecture and Design beneficial.
