**Job Title: Senior Communications Engineer Role**

We are seeking a seasoned professional to assume the responsibilities of a Senior Communications Engineer. As a key member of our engineering team, this individual will provide expert support and maintenance for Motorola P25 networks, focusing on administering and maintaining P25 PSN operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of protocols, standards, and interfaces that enable interoperability between core elements or different vendors within the network's core. Additionally, they should possess advanced knowledge of DC power systems and batteries, as well as analysis and fault-finding skills on a systems level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and providing technical service according to specified requirements.
• Supporting Motorola P25 Network management-tool and architecture.
• Assisting in the technical change management process by testing changes in configuration or software that may impact End User Devices.
• Escalation and providing support to level 3 support as required.
• Performing engineering support to broader NOCC, L2, and field teams when necessary.
• Interacting with clients to resolve issues or problems and completing any support activities.
• Taking the lead in providing ad hoc support, training, direction, and guidance to BAICC, Service Integrity Unit, and system maintenance and fault restoration.
• Collaborating closely with the NOCC Manager, L1, and Customer Service Manager to provide high-level support and resolution of customer and network issues within agreed timeframes.
• Escalating systemic issues that are operational and customer-impacting to engage further engineering support for root cause and resolution.
• To perform the role of Problem Manager regarding complex faults, investigating repeating incidents to root cause level, offering workarounds, or identifying fixes when necessary.
• Providing ad hoc support, instruction, and guidelines to BAI staff, NSW Telco, or Subcontractors as needed.
• Assisting in the development of work estimates and quotations for both out-of-scope PSN activity and external bids where appropriate.
• Contributing to minor project works from time to time.
• Performing on-call system support for PSN L2 NOCC on a roster.
• Traveling to sites as required for site acceptance, issues, planning, testing, and fault rectification support.
• Participating in the On Call Roster for after-hour primary response.

• Expert understanding of protocols, standards, and interfaces allowing interoperability between core elements or between different vendors within the network's core (eg P25 Land Mobile standards).
• Advanced understanding of DC power systems and batteries.
• Analysis and fault-finding skills on a systems level will be advanced.
• Excellent customer service skills, including good communication skills with a drive for total customer satisfaction as a result of work performed.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills including effective consultation and liaison skills.
• Sound planning capability, good prioritization skills, and personal organization to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent theoretical and practical problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Diploma, or the equivalent.
• Preferably 15+ years in a mobile communications systems engineering role or related roles in the telecommunications industry.
• A current state driver's license is required.
• Must be prepared to work away from home for short periods and work interstate.
• Australian Citizenship essential to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance as a condition of employment.
