Our organization is seeking an experienced and skilled Industrial Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Rowville. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all maintenance resources, including covering plant and equipment repairs, maintenance, and installations.

The successful candidate will have a trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Industrial Electrician and previous experience in engineering maintenance, preferably within a dairy or FMCG industry.

We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, who can manage a unionized workforce and provide technical support and oversight of day-to-day maintenance operations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be results-oriented, and have strategic thinking abilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing mechanical and electrical trades employees and contractors
  • Managing the completion of planned and unplanned maintenance works to ensure reliable operation of all areas of the factory
  • Increasing site operational effectiveness through improvements on project delivery, downtime reduction initiatives, and completion of root-cause analysis for repeated breakdowns
  • Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices, and processes
  • Planning, managing, and executing CAPEX Projects, budget management, and scope of works

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Industrial Electrician
  • Previous experience in engineering maintenance, preferably within a dairy or FMCG industry
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing machinery and equipment, Tetra Pak highly desirable
  • Proven ability to trouble-shoot, analyze, and problem-solve
