About the North East Link Project

The Central Package of Victoria's biggest road project has been awarded to a leading design and construction contractor.

This Public Private Partnership will deliver three-lane twin tunnels and key interchanges for the project, closing the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway.

By reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads, up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, minimizing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Mechanical Junior Engineer to join our TBM Plant team. The successful candidate will assist in compiling construction reports, managing review flows, and controlling comment close-out processes among other duties.

This full-time site-based role requires working day and night shifts.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage maintenance, modifications, and demobilization of smoke duct gantries totaling 14 units.
  • Generate scheduled change-out regimes for high-risk components on scabbling and drill gantries.
  • Report on scheduled and breakdown maintenance.
  • Provide engineering support for traversing lower Plenty box by all 14 gantries.
  • Manage temporary works design and ensure relevant approvals are obtained.
  • Sustain a positive work environment and promote good employee relations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance engineers, shift supervisors, and foremen to improve maintenance procedures and plant equipment.
  • Demonstrate people management skills by managing work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
  • Provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short-term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with site supervision staff.

To be Successful

You will need:

  • 1-3 years' experience in a relevant discipline.
  • A Master's or undergraduate degree in a relevant field.

  • Skills in computer software packages such as Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
