Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Specialist to join our team at Visy Beverage Can Smithfield. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery within our Beverage Can Plant, ensuring high-quality products while upholding Visy values.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend to breakdowns efficiently, minimizing downtime.
  • Perform routine checks and planned maintenance to optimize machine efficiency.
  • Assist in fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery.
  • Carry out general overhauls to machinery.
  • Maintain stock levels of spare parts to facilitate efficient repairs.
  • Update and maintain data records on works carried out.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
  • Participate in ad-hoc project work as required.

Salary Range:

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $85,000-$110,000 AUD, commensurate with experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualifications (Certificate III or higher) in a Fitting/Machine discipline.
  • Solid experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience highly regarded.
  • Computer literacy – MS Office, SAP knowledge or similar related software applications.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
