Job Title: Butcher - Meat Cutter and Trimmer

Estimated Annual Salary: $60,000 - $80,000

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced butcher to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As a butcher, you will be responsible for cutting and trimming raw meat for sale using various tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and sanitize equipment, reassembling it as needed, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Bring cases of meat from the cooler and empty contents onto the meat cutting or preparation area.
  • Cut and trim meat to Costco specifications using band saws and knives, operate tenderizing machines, and follow safety procedures.
  • Operate a meat grinder, checking the fat content of each batch, and adhere to quality and consistency standards.
  • Transfer cut and ground meat to styrofoam trays, load them onto large plastic trays, and transfer to wheeled racks for wrapping.
  • Assist with wrapping and stocking the meat case according to the Meat Manager's plan.
  • Clean and sanitize the area throughout the day, maintaining health code standards and proper temperatures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and implements.
  • Provide prompt and courteous member service.
Non-Essential Functions and Tasks
  • Assist with front-end duties as necessary.
  • Support other departments within the warehouse as required.
