Job Overview

Astrum is seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Technician to join our team in Canberra.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity to work with our equipment, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently. Your duties will include installing, maintaining, and repairing elevators, mechanical walkways, and escalators. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting malfunctions and conducting safety tests.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain elevator systems, including electrical components.
  • Service and repair machine parts, as needed.
  • Conduct regular safety checks to prevent accidents.
  • Travel around ACT and NSW to perform maintenance tasks.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have relevant mechanical certification and experience in maintenance. It would be advantageous to hold Boom & Scissor Lift, Confined Space, and Work at Heights tickets. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects are also essential.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • All-round maintenance experience with welding and machining skills.
  • Relevant mechanical certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Troubleshooting skills for mechanical malfunctions.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
