Job Description

This position is a unique opportunity to work as part of the prosecution team in assisting and supporting victims of crime and vulnerable witnesses through the criminal justice process.

The Witness Assistance Service (WAS) is a specialist unit that works collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality professional assistance for victims and witnesses of crime.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert support to victims and witnesses, ensuring they have the opportunity to give their evidence to the best of their ability.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or a related field are essential.
  • Experience in counselling or case management in trauma-related areas such as child sexual assault, adult sexual assault, domestic violence and/or grief and loss.
  • Current driver's license and willingness to travel to regional areas.
