Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Policy and Integrity Advisor to join our team at the National Indigenous Australians Agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening our Integrity Framework through the review, development, and implementation of Integrity policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a culture that aligns with NIAA values and fosters high-performing teams who are dedicated to achieving quality program outcomes.
  • Contribute to the policy development work program and management of strategic partnerships for the group.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand processes, quality of response required, and deadlines, and that all documentation is recorded in the relevant management tracking tool/s.
  • Plan and coordinate workflow to ensure even distribution and management of priorities.
  • Undertake planning and implementation of small-scale projects for the team or branch and effectively monitor and report on performance and workload.
  • Undertake reviews using internal quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

  • Understanding of NIAA's vision and purpose and how the work of the branch contributes to this, while recognizing the links between business plans and the vision.
  • Ability to lead the development of team and section plans, strategies, and goals to support the vision and corporate plan.
  • Review performance of team and section, with a broad focus beyond deadlines to review quality of outcomes.
  • Identify systemic issues and solutions for consideration by the wider leadership group and guiding others in implementing and adapting to change.
  • Treat all NIAA staff and stakeholders with respect and courtesy and actively recognizing and listening to the diverse opinions and voices of staff and stakeholders.
  • Build productive organizational networks and identifying learning opportunities for self and others.
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times and operating within the boundaries of organizational processes and legal and public policy constraints, while working towards promoting NIAA's values.
  • Focus on achieving objectives in difficult circumstances and challenging issues constructively and the ability to justify personal position when challenged.
  • Communicate tailored information and messages confidently, with demonstrated cultural competence; identifies relevant stakeholders and anticipates expectations and concerns; approaches difficult negotiations with a clear understanding of key issues and desired outcomes.
