About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Switchboard Design Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing estimates and bids for projects of all sizes, designing switchboards based on client specifications, and creating technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing drawings, plans, and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Designing switchboards based on AS/NZS 3018:2016 for Low-Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies.
  • Creating standard switchboard drawings, including general arrangements, single line diagrams, and bills of materials using AutoCAD and other design tools.
  • Compiling and submitting tenders accurately and in alignment with customer and company requirements.
  • Producing technical documentation such as construction drawings, material take-offs, product data sheets, and other essential documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certifications in Electrical Design are a must.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience designing Main Distribution Systems and Switchboards.
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and Service & Installation Rules for various states.
  • Proficient in using design tools such as AutoCAD and other related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills — you'll need to liaise with internal teams and external clients regularly.
