About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Controller to join our Engineering & Construction division in Perth.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of project cost metrics, forecasting, variance analysis, and managing all aspects of project accounting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing control budgets and estimates in line with project scope and work breakdown structure across the full project life cycle.
  • Undertaking project forecasting and estimate to complete.
  • Earned value analysis, cost reporting, and cost performance evaluation.
  • Variance analysis – trend, risk, and opportunity identification.
  • Providing data on project cost performance and participating in the review of overall project status and forecasts with the Commercial Manager and Project Manager.
  • Assessing variation and claims and providing cost change management.
  • Managing project accounting activities, including cost control, responsible for leading the compilation of the monthly progress claim.
  • Being the link between the Project team and the Commercial team in Perth.
  • Processing month-end accounting activities, including relevant accruals, provisions, allocations, and cost transfers.
  • Preparing monthly management reports and presenting to senior management.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce, or a related field, as well as experience in project accounting and cost control. A strong analytical and problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different situations and prioritise tasks autonomously are essential.
