The Role

We are currently seeking a Cost Controller to join our Projects Controls team. This full-time permanent position is based at our Perth head office and is responsible for:

  • Setting up and maintaining cost budgets for projects based on tender submissions and estimates
  • Preparation of internal and client invoicing and supporting documentation
  • Maintaining all cost commitments, including review of internal and third-party costs
  • Preparing monthly cost forecasts and assisting in producing monthly Contract Status Reports
  • Providing cost control support and assistance, including project closeout and lessons learned reviews
  • Inputting client variations and maintaining current contract value and budgets
  • Reviewing requisitions and commitments for compliance to project cost coding
  • Preparing consolidated project invoicing forecasts
  • Closing out projects upon completion
  • Assisting with office and site timekeeping systems and reporting

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in finance/accounting, engineering, project management, or a related discipline
  • Post-graduate experience in a cost controller or similar role
  • Understanding and application of project cost management principles
  • Strong data and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality and attention to detail when working to deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • High levels of computer literacy, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and reporting systems like Pronto, Power BI, Tableau, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Active participation in departmental goals, objectives, and projects
  • Experience working for a construction contractor in the mining/resources industry is highly desirable
