Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Civil Construction Estimator to join our team at Buildability Group.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in civil estimating, particularly with local councils and government projects. A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is essential.

About the Role:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for various civil construction projects, including roadworks, drainage, footpaths, earthworks, and other local council infrastructure.
  • Manage the tender process from start to finish, reviewing documents, identifying scope requirements, and preparing competitive bids.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate costings.
  • IDentify potential project risks and incorporate contingency measures into estimates.
  • Recommend cost-effective alternatives and solutions to maximise project value for clients.
  • Liaise with local council representatives to clarify project requirements and provide technical support during the bidding process.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other internal teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil estimating, preferably with a focus on local council or government projects.
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
