About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Civil Estimator to join our team and help drive the growth of our company. As a Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including roadworks, drainage, footpaths, earthworks, and other local council infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have experience in estimating for local council works and a solid grasp of council tender requirements and processes. You will be working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil projects, taking into account materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Tendering: Manage the end-to-end tender process, including reviewing tender documents, identifying scope requirements, and preparing competitive bids.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyse project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine costs.
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate costings.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingency measures into estimates.
  • Value Engineering: Recommend cost-effective alternatives and solutions to maximise project value for clients.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with local council representatives to clarify project requirements, address concerns, and provide technical support during the bidding process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other internal teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and specifications.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil estimating, preferably with a focus on local council or government projects.
  • A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is required.
  • The ability to work in a small team environment and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience pricing work in Australia and having a driver's license.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a salary between $100,000 - $140,000 + Super, plus opportunities for career growth and ongoing professional development. We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
