Accountant III Role

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant III to join our team. As an Accountant III, you will be responsible for performing a variety of general and statutory accounting, financial reporting, and analyses for the North American property and casualty insurance division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare quarterly financial packages, statutory reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, analyses, journal entries, compliance filings, and work on projects.
  • Work with data cubes and accounting hubs and prepare ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Partner with others in the finance organization, as well as, interact with underwriting, claims, actuary, and compliance departments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of strong and progressive accounting experience, including experience in preparing financial statements and flux analyses. Insurance industry experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA and or MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding and application of U.S. GAAP and SOX. Statutory accounting and reinsurance background preferred.
  • Oracle ERP, Hyperion/FCCS, Smartview and or similar accounting software experience a plus.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill in Excel required.
