Key Role Summary

Hope Community Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated Counsellor/Educator to provide individual and group support services in Hedland, Western Australia.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering evidence-based interventions and education programs in a supportive, trauma-informed framework.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Deliver counselling and therapeutic support to clients
    • Facilitate educational programs and group sessions
    • Conduct assessments and create individualised treatment plans
    • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders
    • Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in line with HOPE's standards
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse client groups.

They will also have strong assessment and intervention skills, with a focus on providing trauma-informed care.

A relevant qualification in Counselling or a related field is essential, along with a strong understanding of mental health principles and practices.

Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities would be highly regarded.
