Are you passionate about supporting individuals and communities to thrive? Hope Community Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counsellor/Educator to join our team in Hedland, Western Australia.

About The Role

As a Counsellor/Educator, you will play a key role in delivering individual and group support services to individuals experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues, mental health concerns, or other life challenges. Your work will focus on providing evidence-based interventions and education programs in a supportive, trauma-informed framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver counselling and therapeutic support to clients
  • Facilitate educational programs and group sessions
  • Conduct assessments and create individualised treatment plans
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in line with HOPE's standards

Essential Criteria
  • A relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Community Services, or related field, or at least five (5) years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a counselling, education, or AOD/mental health support role
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice and harm minimisation
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver's licence

Employment Details
  • Award: SCHADS Level 4
  • Salary Range: $88,090.08 + regional allowance + super
  • Location: Hedland, WA (eligible for regional sponsorship)
  • Visa Sponsorship: Available for suitable overseas applicants meeting criteria
  • Contract: Full-time
