Financial Professional Opportunity

Our organization is seeking an experienced financial professional to fill the position of trust accountant.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and financial analysis to support our organization's financial statements.
  • Reconcile trust bank accounts with financial records and maintain current accounting information.
  • Manage cashflows between trust and office, ensuring accuracy in Partner financials and income.
  • Conduct PEXA verifications for electronic property settlements.
  • Communicate with legal teams and problem solve daily matters.
  • Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports, assist in audits, and advise on matters.
  • Exercise internal controls and problem solve, conducting internal investigations to detect suspected fraud and breaches.
  • Control monies - invest and withdraw funds and ensure trust compliance.
  • Liaise with banks/financial institutions to establish investments.
  • Execute payment plans while liaising with credit team.
  • Generate cheque requisitions while liaising with accounts payable team for third party payments.
  • Coordinate and implement improvements post annual external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with trust accounting standards and policies as per Legal Profession Uniform Law in NSW, VIC, WA & QLD.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in trust accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar discipline.
  • Strong understanding of trust account regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting or practice management software and Microsoft office.
  • Attention to detail, strong communication, time management abilities, and tactical problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Strategic, analytical, and organized thinker.
  • CPA or CA qualification is desirable.
