Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Negotiator to lead our program. As an Executive Leader, you will be responsible for developing, negotiating, implementing and managing major subcontracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a major subcontract domain and oversee complex platform systems.
  • Direct all aspects of performance as the Control Account Manager, tracking and reporting on performance, risk and quality against targets.
  • Oversee a team of 5-7 people, focusing on their professional development and ensuring employee welfare.
  • Engage directly with suppliers, including managing directors, to resolve performance concerns and mitigate risks.
  • Present and negotiate with management committee regarding subcontract approvals and performance issues.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Prior defence sector procurement and contract management experience is advantageous.
  • Degree qualification in engineering or a related commercial discipline; professional procurement qualification highly regarded.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) highly regarded.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven capability in contract negotiations in Defence or related industries.
  • Well-developed leadership experience, either through management of a team or leadership of complex projects.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders to generate business benefit while maintaining key relationships.
