Teacher of Special Education

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking a Specialist Teacher to work within the high support needs space, accountable for supporting our Strategic Intent of improving learning outcomes for all students and promoting a professional and rewarding working life for teachers.
Key Responsibilities- Creating inclusive practice in school culture in relation to the effective implementation of personalised learning and adjustments for students with additional needs and disability
- Providing specialised teaching support services to schools aimed at building teacher capacity using a gradual release model
- Providing expert advice to leadership teams, teachers and the wider system on matters related to specific disabilities and/or additional needs in accordance with CSPD guidelines
- Working collaboratively to ensure inclusion, access and participation and to maximise learning outcomes for students with additional needs
To be successful in this highly rewarding role, you will demonstrate alignment with the purpose and core values of CSPD, along with:
- Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
- Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
- Previous experience working with vulnerable students
- Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with students and support an inclusive learning environment
