About this role:

The Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking a passionate and dedicated Specialist Teacher to support newly arrived students learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). This permanent full-time position involves teaching, assessing and evaluating the progress of EAL/D students using ESL scales and EAL/D learning progression.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to develop programs, practices, strategies and resources for EAL/D students
  • Provide expert advice on delivery modes that meet the needs of EAL/D students
  • Create inclusive school culture through effective implementation of personalised learning for new students
  • Contribute to leadership, design and delivery of professional learning for building teacher capacity in EAL/D education

To succeed in this role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Education
  • Experience in EAL/D education
  • Statements of Service
  • Working with Children Check clearance
  • Sound knowledge of and commitment to our Catholic faith and mission in Catholic education

What you can expect:

This role offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a Specialist Teacher with the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality education to students from diverse backgrounds.
