About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a significant contribution to student welfare and wellbeing in Catholic Education.

The successful candidate will work as part of our Behaviour and Specialist Programs Team, providing high-level therapeutic case management and consultation to school teams. You will work collaboratively with other members of the team, as well as those within the Learning Directorate, to provide a holistic approach to supporting students with complex and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-level therapeutic case management services to students and their families;
  • Consult with school teams to develop and implement effective support strategies;
  • Work within a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model;
  • Respond to referrals from school counsellors and manage a caseload of varying degrees of complexity;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and teachers to facilitate collaborative problem-solving and improve student outcomes;
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to enhance student support;
Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people;
  • Experience in complex case management and counselling families, children, and young people using evidence-based interventions;
  • Experience in cognitive, emotional, and behavioural assessment of children and young people;
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a registered Psychologist or Social Worker;
  • Capacity to make a significant contribution to student welfare and wellbeing;
  • Evidence-based professionally informed judgement in dealing with sensitive issues;
  • Capability to facilitate parent and caregiver education;
  • Support for our Catholic ethos;
