Clinical Nurse Specialist Role

Join a multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in our Renal Outreach Unit.

Location: Bega, rural heartland of the Sapphire Coast.

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time.

Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2.

Remuneration: $58.99 per hour.

Hours Per Week: 16.

Job Summary

  • This is an opportunity to provide person-centred specialist nursing care at an advanced practice level for the designated specialty.
  • As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work collaboratively with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve people-focused quality care.
  • Provide clinical leadership, support and supervision for less experienced clinicians.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and relevant post-registration qualifications in Renal Nursing with a minimum of three years' experience working in the clinical specialty.
  2. Demonstrated competencies in and knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in providing specialty nursing care in the context of a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy in clinical decision making and leadership in the development of nursing specialty practice advancement.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through IT, written and verbal means, and sound interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualized person-centred care at an extended role level with a commitment to quality improvement.
  6. Demonstrated ability to supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality nursing care with a willingness to show leadership and embrace change in the coordination and delivery of care.
  7. Evidence of participation in own professional development and a commitment to maintaining competence, with a willingness to share expertise as a resource person and mentor others within the specialty.
