Enhance Maritime Security in the Gulf of Guinea

The European Union has launched a call for contribution to bolster maritime security and stability in the region. This initiative aims to foster cooperation between EU Member States and regional partners to address common challenges and threats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, taking into account regional dynamics and EU interests.
  • Coordinate EU actions with regional partners, including Nigeria, Ghana, and other coastal states.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including international organizations, NGOs, and private sector actors, to leverage resources and expertise.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations on key issues affecting maritime security, such as piracy, armed robbery, and human trafficking.
Requirements:
  • Hold a nationality of an EU Member State.
  • Have a strong understanding of maritime security issues, particularly in the Gulf of Guinea region.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Working Conditions:
  • Work closely with the EUSDI team, including EU diplomats, military personnel, and civilians.
  • Travel regularly to regional meetings, conferences, and other events, as required.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes, contributing to the development of EU policies and initiatives.
