Data Center Operations Expert

AWS Infrastructure Services oversees the planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
The team supports all AWS data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure customers have continuous access to innovation.
You will join a diverse team of hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure.
- Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in various facets of their career.
- Engage in improvement projects, often requiring collaboration with support teams, and drive them from conception to completion.
- Coordinate daily with third-party vendors ensuring adherence to contracted service level agreements.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of relevant experience working in a data center or other critical environments with extensive knowledge in UPS, Generators, HVAC, Evaporators, and other critical infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience in people management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- An excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAHU units.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, technical writing, or business justifications (white paper experience).
- Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline).
