Research Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our team in the School of Molecular Sciences at the University of Western Australia. The successful candidate will be part of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology and will work on projects focusing on building Synbio parts and tools for using plant chloroplasts as protein production factories.
The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research in synthetic and molecular biology, preparing manuscripts for publication, and supervising students in high-quality postgraduate teaching programs. The successful candidate will also be involved in educational outreach activities and the translation of fundamental biomolecular science to provide innovative solutions to the future of plant use on earth and beyond.

The School of Molecular Sciences is home to the research laboratory of Professor Ian Small, Professor Harvey Millar, and Professor Ryan Lister, who collaborate as the University of Western Australia's node of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plants for Space (P4 S). P4 S aims to re-imagine plant design and bioresource production to enable off-Earth habitation and provide transformative solutions to improve on-Earth sustainability.
