  • Identify alternatives to presenting to the Emergency Department for low-risk individuals
  • Access support from trained mental health professionals within their community, outside a clinical setting
About the Role:

This is a part-time (0.8FTE), fixed-term opportunity based in Caboolture, QLD until November 2025. The successful candidate will be based at a fantastic program that provides a safe environment for people experiencing psychological distress.

The Mental Health Clinician will provide tailored psychological strategies to meet the individual needs of people accessing the service within a community-based mental health care setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop brief and ongoing interventions, manage risk, and create care plans
  • Work collaboratively across health service networks to plan and coordinate individualized psychosocial interventions to meet the needs of people with mental health issues
  • Work effectively through active participation within the multidisciplinary mental health team, the profession-specific network, and with consumers, families/carers, and extended agencies

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health services. You will have opportunities to develop your skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse, or AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge, expertise, and skill; specifically, Brief Intervention Models of Care
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in a continuous learning environment
  • Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding of assessment and care planning
