Job Title: Food Service Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Food Service Assistant.

  • About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of food preparation, equipment handling and delivery, and service of meals to patients, caregivers, and visitors within various areas of the Catering Services Department.
  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Preparation, plating, and delivery of meals and snacks to patients and staff to various locations throughout the hospital.
  • Maintenance and provision of meals and snacks in the staff dining room.
  • Assistance with washing of cutlery, crockery, and glassware.
  • Washing up of large heavy-duty pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
  • Observation and practice of all aspects of food, kitchen, and personal hygiene.
  • General kitchen hygiene, washing of walls, floors, refrigerators, and other areas as requested.
  • Requirements:
  • Familiarity with all areas of kitchen hygiene.
  • Able to interpret menus correctly.
  • Knowledge of vegetable, salad, and sandwich preparation for large numbers.
