Instrument Technician Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to work with our team on various projects. Our company has a rich history of supplying high-quality instrumentation and electrical services to the oil and gas, pipeline, and petrochemical industries.

The successful candidate will have experience working with pneumatic, electronic, and microcomputer instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test instrument and system operation, diagnose faults, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Consult manufacturers' manuals to determine test and maintenance procedures.
  • Use testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation.
  • Practice loss management principles to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with process operators to identify and resolve issues.
  • Repair, maintain, and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts.
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure safe working practices.
  • Calibrate and maintain components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Work with engineers on basic design projects.
  • Install and maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment and processes.
  • Apply appropriate CSA, ISA, and API installation standards and practices.
Education and Skills:
  • A valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
  • Completed training in First Aid, H2S, CSTS/PST.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Registered Apprentice or Certified Journeyman Instrumentation Technician.
