Accessibility Strategist

The role encompasses defining and implementing an accessibility test strategy aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual accessibility audits and oversee automated testing to ensure compliance with WCAG guidelines.
  • Document findings in ACR/VPAT-style reports, highlighting areas of improvement and providing recommendations.
  • Collaborate with UX, engineering, and QA teams to embed accessibility into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Mentor team members and raise awareness of accessibility standards, promoting a culture of inclusivity and accessibility within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ATAG, and Section 508 standards, with the ability to apply them in a practical context.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as axe, WAVE, Accessibility Insights, and Pa11y to identify and resolve accessibility issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Assistive Technologies (AT), including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
  • Background in Quality Assurance or front-end development is highly desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
