About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Healthcare Research Specialist for Population Child Health. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $110,059 per annum, plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing research quality and funding to improve child and adolescent health globally. You will contribute to advancing mixed-methods implementation evaluations of paediatric healthcare models, including the , which aims to improve access for priority populations within the Sydney Children's Hospital Network, and the MRFF-funded Transition Compass study, which evaluates a model to facilitate the transition from paediatric to adult services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision;
  • Undertake qualitative research methods and basic statistical analysis;
  • Develop and submit ethics and research governance applications;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and levels of seniority;
  • Establish priorities, manage time effectively, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

A PhD in health-services research, public health or children's health with appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training and/or professional accreditation;Demonstrated experience in qualitative research methods;Competency in basic statistical analysis;Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments;An understanding of basic equity-based research;Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively;Proven initiative and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work both independently and part of a multidisciplinary team.
