Integrated Violence Abuse and Neglect Leadership Role

The role of Integrated Violence Abuse and Neglect Lead is a critical position within our organization, requiring a senior leader with advanced clinical skills and strategic thinking.

This position will play a pivotal role in shaping the clinical direction of our iVAN team, driving service innovation and delivering specialist care to those impacted by violence and abuse across the Northern Tablelands.

About the Position
  • Lead and support your team by overseeing workflows, mentoring staff, managing complex cases, and ensuring a seamless, culturally safe service across the Northern Tablelands.
  • Deliver high-quality counselling to adults, young people, and children who have experienced or are at risk of sexual assault, domestic violence, or other forms of abuse and neglect.
  • Represent NSW Health at Safety Action Meetings (SAMs), providing senior health expertise in a multi-agency forum addressing serious domestic and family violence threats.
  • Coordinate outreach services to Glen Innes, Tenterfield, and Warialda, strengthening local support pathways and reducing travel burdens for clients.
  • Participate in the Tier-2 iVAN crisis roster, responding to after-hours incidents and delivering psychosocial care for recent sexual assault presentations if the service resumes.
About You
  • We are looking for an experienced leader who can combine advanced clinical skills with strategic thinking.
  • You will have senior experience in sexual assault, domestic/family violence, or child protection counselling.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with children, families, Aboriginal communities, LGBTIQ+ clients, and other diverse groups.
  • Expertise in psychosocial and risk assessment, safety planning, case coordination, and trauma-informed advocacy.
  • Demonstrated capability to coach clinicians, facilitate reflective practice, and lead change within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sound knowledge of NSW legislation, policies, and evidence-based frameworks guiding VAN work—or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the complexities of violence and abuse, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and have a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
