About The Role

The Clinical Nurse Manager/ Deputy Director of Nursing & Midwifery (CNM/ DDONM) plays a critical role in supporting the management team at Inverell Hospital, working alongside Nursing and Midwifery Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators, and the Health Service Manager. This position focuses on overseeing Quality and Work Health and Safety initiatives and assisting with clinical recruitment, as well as the implementation of clinical programs and projects across the facility. The goal is to support clinical teams in delivering safe, effective, and efficient healthcare to the local community.

This dynamic role requires a proactive and collaborative approach within a diverse team, as well as strong organisational and time management skills. The CNM/ DDONM will also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage a variety of tasks across different teams. The position, which is part of the nursing administration team, reports directly to the Health Service Manager. The role is supported by both the Health Service Manager and Nursing and Midwifery Unit Managers, with additional guidance from Quality Managers and the Work Health Safety Coordinator. Training and clinical supervision will be provided to support staff development.

Inverell, known as Australia's Sapphire City, is a historic town on the Macintyre River, famous for its gemstone hunting at Billabong Blue Sapphire Fossicking Park and other local sites. The town offers charming boutiques, coffee shops, and scenic countryside drives, with easy access to flights from Inverell airport, including 1-hour flights to Brisbane and regular flights to Sydney and Melbourne.

Inverell Hospital is a vital and bustling Rural District Hospital that provides a wide range of essential healthcare services to the local community. The hospital is equipped with key departments, including the Emergency Department, Renal Dialysis Unit, In-Patient Unit, Maternity Services, and Surgical Services, all of which are integral to delivering comprehensive care to patients. The hospital serves as an important healthcare hub, offering specialised services to address the diverse needs of rural populations. A dynamic and dedicated workforce supports the operations of the hospital, with professionals such as Nursing Students, Assistants in Nursing, Enrolled Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Midwives working together to provide high-quality care.
