Job Title: Community Engagement Specialist

Role Overview:

The Community Engagement Specialist will play a vital role in providing social engagement support to clients visiting the Drop-in Centre at the Ozanam Learning Centre. This dynamic role involves facilitating activities and services that promote exceptional impact, service, and engagement, contributing to the broader outcomes of individuals experiencing disadvantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and contribute to social engagement activities that reflect consumer voice and evidence-informed practice.
  • Provide general support at the OLC drop-in centre, including social engagement activities, such as facilitating board games, craft activities, and book groups.
  • Offer excellent customer service for general enquiries, membership or volunteering enquiries, donor inquiries, and requests for support or assistance.
  • Support individuals experiencing disadvantage to engage and participate in programs and activities that meet service outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate data capturing and reporting that contributes to continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant qualification(s) and/or demonstrated experience in community services and/or other relevant area.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people from various backgrounds and experiences, including cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to changing work environments and requirements.
