Job Description:

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the success of our commercial endeavors. The Commercial Lead position is a critical function that involves providing expert advice and guidance on procurement planning, tendering, and contract formation.

You will be responsible for leading commercial strategies and drafting key project documents and artefacts to meet strict standards and schedules. Additionally, you will provide knowledge transfer services, drawing on your skills and experience to share best practices with Defence staff.

Collaboration and communication are essential aspects of this role, as you will work closely with other Commercial Function services to provide integrated commercial support and manage legal support services effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • AGSVA Security clearance
  • Defence experience
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide advice and support to procurement planning, tendering, and contract formation, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes, and procedures.
  2. Generate and review strategic and complex contracting correspondence, including high-level advice on commercially sensitive and technically complex reports, submissions, and other documents.
  3. Contribute expertise to guide and mentor others on technical and commercial risk principles and performance management frameworks related to procurement and contracting activities within Defence.
  4. Evaluate and design mitigation strategies for risks associated with very complex procurement and contracting activities, contract performance, and compliance with legislative and policy frameworks.
  5. Design and implement innovative solutions, consulting on very complex and strategic procurement contracting issues.
