Position Summary
The Logistics Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing and managing the daily operations within the Flinders Warehouse and Distribution (FWD) facility. This role includes overseeing cargo handling and ensuring the smooth coordination of import and export activities. The Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency, upholding safety standards, and managing the daily tasks of warehouse personnel.
Primary Duties
- Oversee the operation of essential equipment and collaborate with team members on the operational aspects of FWD activities;
- Provide clear instructions to staff regarding job expectations and ensure that tasks are completed to a high standard, including training and mentoring new warehouse staff;
- Manage the import and export processes for bulk, packaged, palletized, and high-volume shipments;
- Promote ongoing safety enhancements, including the implementation of specific policies and procedures focused on training, risk management, and injury prevention;
- Ensure adherence to WH&S, Quality, Maritime Security, and Environmental standards are maintained at the highest level;
- Conduct Job Safety and Environmental Analyses (JSEAs) and participate in risk assessments for new operational processes with the support of the Operations Supervisor/Manager.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Valid Forklift Licence (LF), Reach Stacker (RS), and Dogging Licence (DG);
- Certificate IV in Warehousing Operations or Frontline Management, or equivalent experience;
- Background in the logistics and transportation sector;
- Proven experience in leading and developing teams;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Comprehensive understanding of distribution facility operations;
- Commitment to quality control standards and accountability for the quality of work produced.
