Job Overview

We seek an experienced Principal Smart Places Officer to lead our Place and Engagement team. The role will focus on implementing our Community Strategic Plan and Smart Places Strategy, driving community outcomes through smart technology and infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities
  • Project manage precinct-wide smart cities/places projects
  • Provide advice on designing accessible and safe public spaces using smart technology and infrastructure
  • Work across all Council service areas and directly with the community to resolve day-to-day infrastructure issues and develop improved community networks
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualification in Business, IT, Urban Planning, Social Science, Project Management or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role with transferable skills and experience in Smart Cities/Places
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience, including managing multiple projects simultaneously

This is a 3-year term contract, full-time position working a 70 hour fortnight.
