Electrical Design Specialist Role

We are seeking an expert in electrical design to create detailed technical deliverables for clients. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant EIC documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Interpret engineer's conceptual designs and transform them into detailed technical deliverables.
  • Deliverable Preparation: Create and update electrical system documents, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's and Panel Arrangements.
  • Site Assessments: Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
  • Support & Maintenance: Maintain AutoCAD infrastructure and design tool procedures, including assessing most appropriate software and tools and driving continual improvement.
  • Training & Audits: Train new starters in MIPAC's AutoCAD and design tool procedures and conduct regular audits.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure consistency and compliance with design standards across relevant Australian Standards.
  • AutoCAD Administration: Maintain MIPAC's AutoCAD standards and library, ensuring client CAD standards are implemented.
About You
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent), or a relevant electrical trade background.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical design drafting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Familiarity with design tools such as AVEVA Instrumentation and/or Eplan is desirable.
  • Exposure to 3D modelling software is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Good oral communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers and design team members.
  • Solid computer literacy and sound mathematical skills.
  • Understanding of design standards and willingness to adhere to ISO 9001 principles.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and contribute to timely project delivery.
