Marketing Lead Job Description

The Real Review is a leading digital wine review publication in Australia and New Zealand, experiencing significant growth in recent years. We are seeking a creative and strategic Marketing Lead to drive our growth and oversee our product and sales activities.

This role involves leading our marketing strategy and multiple customer-facing resources, while helping shape the future of wine media in Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wine and the wine community, and will work with a passionate team of wine and media professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies across our product portfolio
  • Lead marketing initiatives for consumer subscriptions, trade memberships, and events
  • Manage and optimize our social media presence
  • Create and execute sales campaigns
  • Analyze marketing ROI and provide revenue reporting

Team Leadership:

The Marketing Lead will oversee a diverse team, including a Customer Success specialist, CRM specialist, Event sales and delivery staff, and Social media resources. The role will also involve participating in yearly/quarterly content pipeline development with our wine content contributors.

Events:

  • Develop innovative event formats aligned with our content strategy
  • Oversee event planning, sales, and delivery
  • Create and execute ticket sales campaigns
  • Manage trade partnerships and sales

Customer Service:

  • Supervise customer service operations, including customer support, winery data management, and wine image requests by our Customer Success Specialist
  • Oversee promotional tool sales and technical support
  • Monitor and analyze customer churn

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven marketing experience in the wine industry, digital content and subscription products, or event management
  • Strong proficiency with digital tools, including CRM platforms, subscription management, accounting software, project management tools, and Google Workspace
  • Leadership skills, including excellent analytical and reporting skills, and strong leadership and team management capabilities
