We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Quality Control Specialist to join our team at Afterpay. As a key member of our Compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze compliance-related decisions to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for process enhancements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide training and coaching to colleagues on compliance procedures and best practices
  • Respond to compliance escalations and inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

  • Native-level proficiency in written and spoken Japanese
  • 2+ years of experience in the AML/Compliance space in either Japan or Australia
  • 2+ years of experience in transaction monitoring, suspicious matter reporting, KYC, and/or watchlist screening
  • Experience delivering training and feedback to individuals
  • A desire to work with individuals and teams across multiple countries and time zones

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Compliance QC/QA experience
  • Experience working in a financial institution or related FinTech payments space
  • Familiarity with using and writing SQL queries
  • Experience working for a global compliance team
  • Knowledge of Looker and experience creating complex dashboards
  • Experience manipulating and presenting trends to management using large data-sets
