Anton Murray Consulting is representing a prominent global financial institution in search of skilled Fund Accountants or Senior Fund Accountants to enhance their fund administration division in Sydney.

The Senior Fund Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing and reviewing processes within fund administration, ensuring the effective service delivery of the Fund Administration team. This position involves verifying and assessing the work of Fund Accountants, both locally and internationally. The Senior Fund Accountant will maintain direct communication with clients, holding responsibility for the precise and timely distribution of client reports in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities:

In the review and validation of reports to meet SLA objectives, the Senior Fund Accountant will focus particularly on the preparation of:

  • Unit Pricing Reports
  • Accounting Reports
  • Tax Reports
  • Resolution of client and interdepartmental inquiries.

This role necessitates substantial interaction across departments, ensuring all operations function smoothly and collaboratively.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record with a minimum of 4 years' experience in senior positions within the fund accounting sector, showcasing expertise in:
    • Unit Pricing
    • Tax Reporting
    • Valuation and Accounting
    • Distributions or Taxable Income Calculations
    • Tax Returns
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Economics are preferred, with CA/CPA credentials being highly regarded.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and an understanding of the broader client service functions, including fund accounting, reporting, operational risk, and compliance.
  • Experience with fund accounting systems such as Hi-Portfolio, PControl, or Dimension is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves addressing and resolving queries from various departments and clients.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, with a base salary range of approximately $95k-$115k plus superannuation and a discretionary bonus.
