Reintegration Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and conscientious individual to join our team as a Reintegration Officer.

About the Role:

The primary function of the Reintegration initiative is to reduce reoffending by coordinating existing supports and services for ex-detainees integrating into the community as positive contributors. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting detainees, pre-release and post-release, from the Alexander Maconochie Centre returning to the ACT Community.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting detainees throughout their transition back into the community.
  • Establishing and maintaining referrals to services surrounding basic needs, accommodation, healthcare, income support, employment, and restoring connections with family, community, and culture.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • A current class C driver's licence is essential.
  • Prior to commencing, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
  • Eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service, an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid work visa.
